Frequently asked questions

A clear start, with room for questions

These are some of the questions people often ask before beginning therapy. You are welcome to get in touch if something is not covered here.

What is CBT?

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a structured, evidence-based talking therapy that helps you understand the links between thoughts, feelings, behaviours and body sensations, then build practical strategies for change.

What happens in the first session?

We explore what has been happening, what you would like support with, and whether CBT or counselling feels like a good fit. There is no pressure to commit after an initial consultation.

Do I need a diagnosis to work with you?

No. You are welcome whether you have a diagnosis, are exploring a possible diagnosis, or simply want support with patterns that feel difficult to manage.

How long is a therapy session and what is the fee?

Therapy sessions are usually 50-60 minutes. Standard sessions are £95, with payment details provided on booking.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies. Some people benefit from short-term work, such as 6 to 12 sessions, while others prefer longer-term support. We review this together.

Do you work online across the UK?

Yes. Therapy is offered online for adults across the UK, so you can attend from a private space that feels manageable for you.

Do you offer in-person therapy in Snettisham, Norfolk?

Yes. A small number of in-person CBT and counselling appointments are available in Snettisham, Norfolk, subject to availability. Please mention this when you enquire.

Is everything confidential?

Yes, within professional and legal limits. Cally explains confidentiality clearly before therapy begins.

Do you specialise in ADHD and addiction?

Yes. Alongside general CBT practice, Cally has a specialist interest in ADHD, addiction and their overlap. Dedicated information is available at adhdandaddiction.co.uk.
